Senior Adult Ministry… S.A.M.
SAM in Action - Adults 60+ Ministry
The Sam in Action mission statement is to communicate and share God’s love to those in the church family, and to those outside the church. The belief of this group is that it exists for the purpose of serving, not being served; of giving, not receiving.
Bible Fellowships…
…Come and join us as we open God's Word each Sunday morning. Here are the classes that are offered:
STAR (ages 56 - 64), Rm 235, Adult 4 (ages 65-74), Fellowship Hall; Adult 5 (ages 75+), Rm 150
Exercise Class…
…is an exercise program started by SAM in Action that meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8:30 a.m. The program follows AARP exercise guidelines for those who want to keep active and maintain a healthy body. The group meets under the direction of John Burris, Senior Adult Director.
Mission Projects & “Adopt an Annuitant” Program…
…are two more areas where SAM in Action is involved. We have a missionary family in Russia who we help support, pray for, and send Christmas gifts that is coordinated by Louise Mason. Also an orphanage and school in Mexico is receiving our support.
Other Areas where we can be found…
… rocking a baby in the nursery, folding a bulletin, keeping records for VBS, delivering our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets as well as supplemental groceries to an underprivileged family, or spending time in our church’s prayer room. We have a monthly breakfast and business meeting as well as an evening fellowship. We may be sighted leading and/or hosting a small group or enjoying a day trip
